If you feel like your daily commute is slowly but surely killing you of boredom, why not try this bus in Seattle where a furry little companion can make it all better? This dog takes the bus every day to visit a park that’s 3 stops away and people just can’t believe their eyes when they see it doing its rounds.
IN GOOD COMPANY
If you were to ride the bus on the D line in Seattle, you might walk into a pleasant four-legged surprise one day. Be sure to bring treats!
SHE’S REALLY SMART
“Eclipse” is a 2 year-old dog that rides the bus every day to the park. She knows what bus to take and when she has to get off to enjoy a nice afternoon outside. Meanwhile, we can barely get a 2.5 on our SATs, am I right?
BUT SHE’S NOT A STRAY DOG
She’s a mixed breed (half Labrador, half Mastiff) and has an owner, Jeff Young. Jeff introduced her to the wonderful world of public transportation and she simply couldn’t get enough!
INDEPENDENT AND PROACTIVE
Like many other independent women, one day she decided she “don’t need no man” and got on the bus on her own when Jeff took too long to finish his cigarette. The bus took off immediately while Jeff was distracted.
HER OWNER WENT LOOKING FOR HER
But it didn’t take long to find her. She got off right at the park and everyone loved having her there. Ever since then, she’s been doing the same thing every day and people have gotten to know her.
SHE LIKES THE WINDOW SEAT
That’s her main concern when hopping into the bus, as she’ll usually try to find an empty seat and look out the window. Maybe she’s trying to remember her route. If no seats are available, she’ll just lay down in the aisle.
AUTHORITIES ALLOW THIS SITUATION
In King County, Seattle, dogs are allowed in certain buses as long as the driver is ok with it and they’re accompanied by their owners. Jeff usually rides with her but sometimes she’ll go on without him.
DRIVERS DON’T MIND HER
Although she should be on a leash, her independence is what everyone loves about her. She doesn’t cause any trouble and doesn’t really bother other passengers in the bus. She loves being petted!
PEOPLE JUST LOVE HAVING HER THERE
Eclipse looks and behaves nicely, she’s always clean looking and never causes any trouble. According to her owner, she gets a bath once a month, whether she likes it or not.
SHE’S NOW WORLD FAMOUS
Media Outlets got ahold of the news and decided to report this lovely dog’s antics to the world. She even has a Facebook Fan Page and her fans are called “Ecliptomaniacs.”
