As a kid, there was nothing better than drinking the milk after eating all of the cereal. Find out which cereal milk you should pair with your favorite alcohol and learn how to make various cocktails and shots. If milk isn’t your thing, but you love cereal, we’ve included some milk free, cereal inspired cocktails.
1. LUCKY CHARMS HARD MILK PUNCH
Pour 3 oz. of lucky charms infused cereal milk, 3/4 oz. dark rum, 3/4 oz. brandy and a 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract into your cocktail shaker and shake with ice. Strain into a cup with one large cube of ice or into a martini glass.
2. CINNAMON TOAST CRUNCH SHOT OR MARTINI
Crush the cereal and place in the Bailey’s. Let the mixture soak for 10 minutes. Drain the Bailey’s into a shaker and pour in the vanilla vodka. Shake and pour! Garnish with a cinnamon stick if you are drinking it as a martini. For the shot, pour the mixture into a large shot glass, top with whipped cream and sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar or crushed cereal.Ingredients2 ounces vanilla vodka4 ounces of Bailey’s1/2 cup Cinnamon Toast Crunch1 cinnamon stick (optional, for garnish)Whipped cream (optional)
Soak the crushed trix (saving a little for garnish) in the vodka or gin for 15 minutes. Drain. Wet rim of chilled martini glass and dip in crushed Trix. Pour cranberry juice and Trix infused alcohol into a shaker with ice. Shake and pour into the martini glass.Ingredients4 ounce vodka or gin1/2 cup crushed Trix cereal1 ounce white cranberry juice
4. COOKIE CRISP COCKTAIL
Combine the 2 oz of infused cookie crisp cereal milk with the amaretto, whiskey and Bailey’s. Pour into a shaker with a little ice, strain and pour and serve. Feeling fancy? Garnish the rim with crushed cookie crisp cereal for decoration, then pour in the mixture.Ingredients1 oz amaretto 1 oz whiskey1 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream (generic or brand works)2 oz Cookie Crisp cereal milk (1/2 cup cereal in 4 oz milk will yield ~2 oz of cereal milk)
5. LUCKY CHARMS MARTINI
Place the marshmallows in the bottom of martini glass. Pour vodka over marshmallows; stir slightly to dissolve if needed. Top with lemonade and lemon juice. For a beautiful drink, first rub lemon on the rim of the glass and dip the rim into crushed marshmallows.Ingredients
6. COCO PUFFS WHITE RUSSIAN SHOT
In order to make a milk shot, you forgo the cereal milk and soak the coco puffs in equal parts of vanilla vodka and Bailey’s Irish Cream and wait for 25 minutes. Drain out the cereal and pour into a shaker with ice, shake and serve. You can garnish the rim with a little chocolate syrup and cinnamon as desired.
7. FRUIT LOOP CEREAL MILK COCKTAIL
The sweet milk from infusing milk with Fruit Loops perfectly complements gin. For this cocktail, use any inexpensive gin and combine it with your milk of choice that has been infused with fruit loops. From whole milk to skim milk to unsweetened almond or coconut milk all work in the cocktail. I personally prefer skim or unsweetened almond milk, so you can have several cocktails without getting full.
8. FRUITY PEBBLES POP ROCKS FIZZ
Infuse the fruity pebbles in the alcohol for 10 minutes. Scoop a ball of watermelon and freeze it. Strain the fruity pebbles from the alcohol. Pour into a glass, sprinkle pop rocks into the beverage. Place frozen watermelon ball into the cocktail. Ingredients1/2 cup fruity pebbles4 ounces of soju or vodkaone ball of watermelon1 packet of pop rocks
9. HONEY NUT CHEERIOS CEREAL MILK COCKTAILS
Honey Nut Cheerio cereal milk is best paired with bourbon. If you want something sweeter or don’t like bourbon select a smooth, cheap rum like Sailor Jerry’s. For a stiffer, sweeter cocktail, add a nut liquor like Frangelico to the bourbon and cereal milk.
