Ian Pfaff decided to use his spare time wisely—by turning his kids’ toy cars into mini Mad Max rides any kid (or adult!) would kill to ride! Pfaff is a director based in California who likes to make props in his spare time. His sons Junior, 2, and Benji, 5 months, are no doubt the coolest kids on the block.
A MAN WITH A VISION
Ian, with the help of his wife Emily, set out to recapture the look of Mad Max: Fury Road so he took it upon himself to find a few toy cars to trick and turn them around.
MOM EVEN MADE BREASTPLATES
Every road warrior needs appropriate road gear. Now how are they going to get these kids off those cars at night?!
THEY DON’T LOOK LIKE MUCH NOW…
Take a look at these Little Tykes Cozy Coupes. They don’t look like very exciting (or sturdy) rides, right? But that’s about to change… HARD.
NO SUCH THING AS JUNK
He used things from around the house like an old espresso machine and junky computer parts. (Does that look like a Bundt pan in the front?)
LOOK AT THE DETAILS
Who knew kids’ cars could be badass? Check out that parental advisory sign! This dad is definitely not playing around. His kids on the other side, couldn’t stop playing!
Ian’s wife Emily even gave up her old breast pump in order to make exhaust pipes. Hey! Everyone’s gotta make sacrifices, right?
AND THERE ARE HOOD ORNAMENTS!
You own the road when you have a doll or robot to lead the way! If anything, it’ll scare some monsters trying to hijack their cars!
DON’T FORGET THE STEAMPUNK ACCESSORIES
Emily is a painter and transformed her kids’ sippy cups into something post-apocalyptic. And together with her husband, they added chains and tubes to these badass cars to imitate a post-apocalyptic world.
WHO WANTS A RIDE?
The kids look like they’re enjoying their new rides. Check out that one-handed steering action—skillz! Imagine the kinds of toys this dad will be building for these lovely kiddies when they grow up!
