There are over 300 breeds of dogs on the planet, and one of the main ways you can tell which type of dog is which is by the style, color and thickness of their coat. But what happens when Fido has had a major ‘fur pas’, and is having such a bad hair day that even their owners can’t tell who they are?

YOU’RE HOT AND YOU’RE COLD

Even though dog’s hair helps them look cute and unique, it also plays a really important role in a dog’s health. Hair helps regulate their temperature. It keeps it cool when it’s hot, and warms it up during a cold winter.

ESPECIALLY FOR HUSKIES

Especially For Huskies Dog Time

Not only is their thick, fluffy double-coated fur one of a husky dog’s most distinguishing features, they are also some of the most temperature-sensitive dogs out there.

It’s obvious that all that thick husky fur is great for in the Arctic Circle, but what about when they live in a hotter climate? It’s easy to think that it will just make them overheat. After all, who’d want to walk around town with a thick furry coat under high temperatures? Yikes!

NO SPRING CHICKEN

No Spring Chicken Twenty Two Words

Some owners care for their dogs as if they were children. In fact, this owner was so worried about his pet husky overheating and suffering from the heat, that he took him to the dog groomers and got them to have a bit of fun at this poor pup’s expense. We bet they had a tough time keeping a straight face around this chicken-shaped dog!

THE PHOTO SENT TWITTER CRAZY

The dog owner realized good jokes are meant to be shared with the world, so he took to Twitter to find a new source of embarrassment. Needless to say, people had a field day! This Twitter user is right. That husky really does look like a Bobblehead!

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

What Do You Think? Twenty Two Words

On Twitter, people really didn’t know how to feel. Is it cute? Or does it look like a weird Frankenstein dog experiment? Maybe a little bit of both! Thank goodness this dog only cares about belly rubs, food, and walks in the park. We seriously doubt he’ll feel out of style!

THE DOG’S FRIENDS WERE SHOCKED

This whole hair cut situation was particularly hard to take for the people who knew the unlucky dog personally. The poor pooch was left totally unrecognizable!

AND IT’S NOT EVEN GOOD FOR HIS HEALTH!

It might seem like the right thing to do. If the dog’s too hot, get rid of his thick fur, right? Wrong! For double-coated dogs, this is totally not the case. In fact, it can actually cause them more harm than good. Getting rid of their fur increases the risk of sunburn, skin cancer and permanent damage to their coat. No more hair salon for this lad!

TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE

Unfortunately, this was pointed out to the dog’s owner on Twitter a little too late. Hopefully, it can at least be a lesson that others with double coated dogs can learn from. Now all they got to do is wait until this ‘impawsibly’ beautiful creatures grows an inch or two!
