Wonder Woman was a Box Office hit, and a lot of the credit goes to the incredible work of actress Gal Galdot and director Patty Jenkins! The iconic heroine has made waves throughout the world for its special effects, superb writing, and the inspiring message of gender equality. But since the movie came out, the director has been getting wind of some youngsters who have been acting a bit “wondrous” themselves.
ALL KIDS LOVE WONDER WOMAN
Little girls want to grow up to become as strong, and as independent as Wonder Woman, while little boys dream of meeting someone that’s as positively awesome as the DC Comics classic superheroine.
REALITY IMITATES ART
Like Wonder Woman, Gal Galdot is a pretty independent kind of gal who doesn’t adhere to norms or expectations. In one interview, she was asked why she wore flats instead of heels, and she simply smiled and said, “because they’re comfortable”.
NO MAN’S LAND
Kids who saw the movie learned that Diana, aka Wonder Woman, wasn’t afraid to take charge and help people despite the era she was in. She faced danger head on as she made her way through the trenches to save a village in distress.
DON’T LITTER OR ELSE
According to the e-mail Director Patty Jenkins received, one girl would only respond to the name “Wonder Woman” for an entire week, while another girl noticed a fellow student littering and taught him why that was bad for the environment. You go, girl!
WONDER WOMAN SHOWS TRUE SUPER STRENGTH
Not only can Wonder Woman wield a sword, bounce bullets with her bracelets, make a liar tell the truth, and leap across vast distances, but she’s got strength that can take anyone down, even Ares, the God of War. But she never allows her humanity to waver, which is a plus.
THE STAR HOW WAS HUMBLED AND HONORED
Jenkins couldn’t have asked for a better actress than Gal Galdot, and the star herself feels absolutely humbled to be a role model for millions of girls around the world. In the process, she’s leaving those damsel in distress characters like Lois Lane, or even iconic Disney princesses in the dust.
FANS ARE IN LOVE
Yes, it’s true that Wonder Woman is powerful, but her charisma and smile are just as strong. But fans are also noticing that there’s a similarity between the fictional heroine and the actress herself. Both are strong-willed, beautiful, and charming, and we can’t wait for Wonder Woman 2 in 2019.
THE MOVIE HAS AN INCREDIBLE REACH
Wonder Woman was always a symbol of strength, even back when Lynda Carter took on the role in the 70s/80s series. But Galdot’s interpretation seems to be infusing women of all ages with a superpower of their own and helping them see that they too can change the world.
IT HAS AN INCREDIBLE REACH
Having a strong role model is something that a lot of little girls might not have seen on screen before. This can only be a positive thing!
WATCH THE MOVIE, CHANGE THE WORLD
Anyone who watches the movie will definitely feel compelled to follow in Diana’s footsteps and challenge the way people perceive injustice in the world. In the end, Wonder Woman isn’t just influencing the next generation of girls, but the next generation of all of humanity.
